Dominican Republic 2010

Tom and Lorraine are living down in the Dominican Republic for a couple of months; we went to visit them:

First thing, we went to the beach.

Sunny and warm with some waves.

Had to wear a wetsuit top–bruising from trunking it all day.

We had some really good Indian food (yeah, Indian). Full on, eating with your hands Indian food.

Playa Grande, the day after a really big day. Dogs.

The landscapers came one day to take care of the lawn:

Papa Serwatka on a horse.

Took a horse-back ride up a mountain

One day was spent in a palapa (Los Gringos).

A place in Rio San Juan.

A strange local shrine.

Motorcycle to the rivermouth down the road. Negotiate the cattle on the beach to ride the fun waves. Walker (the dog) chases the cattle around the beach while Brooke and I are out in the water.

Watch out for cattle on the road.

Buying sugar cane

Outside the "private hotel".

We saw Seth Stafford in Cabarete and gave him a coco and cerveza

Papa Serwatka, having a moment alone.

We got home to this:
