NOAA Cruise Part 3-Mainland Mexico (Nexpa-not like in Captain Zero)

We continued south on the main (and only) road,

winding along the edges of one after another precipice.

The crappy car needed some fuel cleaner

and some inspiring words. It ran better afterwards--I think it was the words.

This seemingly perfect pointbreak is called Hua Hua, but there was small waves and no Tastykakes or delicious hoagies (that's a joke for all the Jersey guys and girls). They did have cocos frios, which to my knowledge can not be purchased at WaWa yet..

We drove into the Nexpa surf camp on the first day of a new swell. Long lines peeled from the point to the "Liquidora" or blender at the end. It's deep just off the beach so you paddle in, get off your board to walk the rest of the way, realize it's too deep to stand while whitewater rolls you up on the cobblestones. Fun.

We stayed for what? 5 days? I forget. Didn't take too many photos of the waves because it was always the same--long lefts reeling from the point to our house.

Our house, check out the tank of water on the roof, that fed the shower and toilet

The "Poop/Shower" unit--very efficient. The water was yellow and came straight from the river. Don't drink it.

Ok, we had some fun at Nexpa and there is (supposedly) good video of Rodrigo and me surfing there (we'll see if Amy can find it).

But we were ready for some barrels, at least I was. So, we drove back up to our original little Mexican town.
